I wish I could actually go to work on one of these.
This is the way to get around during warm weather. With no gears to change and better fuel economy than a Prius, it's the perfect mode of transportation. The top speed (if you're lucky) is around 45mph. In most states no tag is required due to the small 49.4cc. engine. There is storage under the seat and a hook on the front of the seat for hanging a plastic grocery bag.
Don't forget to wear a helmet, and look out for drivers of other vehicles.
If you want to see some vintage Vespas look for the movie "Quadraphenia". I think the spelling is correct, or at least close.

You look very dapper Philip :o)
Funny enough I bought Quadrophenia on DVD only a short while ago. I had watched it at the pictures when I was still a spotty teenager and just wanted to see if it was as good as I remember.
I like the Vespa but prefer proper British motorcycles myself.
I have a few from the 50's and 60's waiting to be restored.
Chris
Thanks Chris, I had just returned from a wedding when this photo was taked. I don't normally ride the Vespa dressed like this. I'm a little afraid of motorcycles and this is about my speed. Now if I could only figure out how to move my equipment with this...
