The Country Pie with Jimmy Rose and I, played in a new place in London back in the
late sixties (1969 I think) called the Master Robert Motel. They had
music seven nights a week and a board at the front of the stage with the
name of the band for each night. When we started playing there
regularly they put our name on a board. On the reverse side was the name
of the band who had just left. It was Mungo Jerry!!

I love Gretsch guitars. Even the new ones made
in Japan are great!! My first Gretsch was the 6120, Chet Atkins model, circa
1960. I still have it and it is still going strong. Check out the
video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCU43dmNU0w

I have decided to try a wireless setup. The first receiver and the microphone arrived today. It sounded good enough that I ordered the second receiver, a feedback controller and a new four space rack. The guitar works well without a preamp. Hope all this lives up my expectations.

1 Countryman E6D ear set microphone
1 Peavey feedback ferret D
1 Gator 4 space shallow rack.

Although the temperatures are not quite there, this is just about start of the summer season here in northeast Georgia. It is definitely warm enough to be outside on the deck. This Friday I'll be performing at the Chophouse in Hiawasseee and Saturday at the Chophouse located at LaPrades Marina on Lake Burton near Clayton, Georgia.
Come and join me at either of the venues. The food is great and the views..... Spectacular!!!

During the late 70's and early 80's I performed at the Iron Horse Saloon in Alliance, Nebraska. I recently came across a video that was made of me performing there around 1981. The quality isn't so great since it was recorded on VHS, but it does show the Iron Horse during it's heyday. Phil Brooks at the Iron Horse, Alliance, Nebraska Check it out.
I was fortunate to aquire this guitar a few months ago. It is an archtop jazz styled instrument with enough volume to use acoustically. When plugged in, it has that beautiful, mellow Gretsch tone. This style, I believe, goes back to the guitars Gretsch produced in the forties.
I'm a
singer/guitarist/Songwriter.
Originally I'm from Blackpool, England, but I now live at Lake Burton, Georgia and spend part of my time in Red River, New Mexico. I've played in rock bands, Irish showbands, cabaret, solo and recorded in some really cool studios such as Philips, Marble Arch, Decca, London and Omnisound in Nashville Tennessee. I love to write songs with historical meaning, about the environment, or just observations about life. I just completed my 4th, solo album. Soon there will be a second
English album.
